Anyway, despite promising myself I'd manage my time better and procrastinate less, I couldn't resist taking a few minutes to pat myself on the back just a teensy tiny bit and announce that I won a CLC Writing Award!

Anyway, the essay I'd worked on for months didn't place, which made me sad. But the short story I spent a frantic four hours revising and submitted barely seven minutes before deadline took second place in the Drama/Fiction category due to its "superior originality and craft." I'd say something snarky and cynical about this but honestly I'm too frigging excited! I'm officially $75 richer, too, which is about three times more than I've been paid for all my paid writing thus far.
The short story is titled "Bomb Baby" and is somewhere between soft sci-fi and literary fiction, and while I still have ambitions of publishing it and won't be making it available it here on the blog, I would LOVE some constructive feedback before I start submitting.
