I think by now it's clear that I love books. I love books. Even if it means I will be poor and overworked forever, there is nothing in my life I want to do more than work with books. Even if I never make it writing them, I'd be happy to be the lowliest intern at a tiny publishing house or a part-time cashier at a bookshop or that crazy lady selling used books at the flea market if it meant I could be around books.
Turns out I'd also be pretty happy to be a volunteer librarian, and as of a few weeks ago, I am.
I live in a small town of about five hundred people that relies primarily on tourist dollars and paper mill money to survive, and there's not a bookshop to be found. But there sure is a lot of heart, and imagine my surprise and delight when I found out that a library is in the works. I was even more surprised and delighted to find out that they needed volunteers, and when they offered to put me in charge of cataloging donations, running software, and ordering new books for their teen section, I jumped at the chance. I'm not getting paid. It's a lot of work.
But I am so happy.
So now you know why I haven't been online much. Hopefully I'll get better at managing my time and juggling both my library commitments and my blogging commitments, but for now, I'm content to bask in the fact that I'm doing what I love and meeting wonderful people and getting great material for college essays (with applications for next fall looming on my horizon).

Also, I cannot wait to see your thoughts of Throne of Glass, as I have heard both glowing and terrible things about it and I now need you to make up my mind.
